Script Analysis

 50 First Dates 1. The opening of the script for 50 First Dates includes many women exclaiming how they had the “best” vacation experience it’s a man until they had asked for his number and he came up with wild excuses as to why he couldn’t stay in contact. This creates the comedic effect for the rest of the movie and even foreshadowing on how the character Adam Sandler (Henry) plays will have character development later on by changing his “player” ways once he finds “the girl.” However, this girl has the perfect irony to this development as it would work perfectly with his “player” facade as she (Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore) has a memory issue where her memory “resets” each day back to the day of her accident. Throughout the script, Henry tries every day to make Lucy fall in love with him all over again without scaring her.  2.    Lately I’ve been watching a show called Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Gauntlet. It’s a show on Netflix where they watch and review older B movies by using sarcasm and humor to make fun of the screening.  Jonah Ray plays the role of Jonah Heston, who is forced to watch a vault of cheesy movies, with his 3 robot friends, by Dr. Kinga. As they crack snarky jokes, they continue to finish the list of B movies that they have been forced to remark.
