The Archetype. Open: it’s night, Jess strolls through a neighborhood and finds a ring that she thinks looks cool. Jess: oh wow, this ring is so pretty. Very unique. She grabs it and as she does she gets hit by a car. Person: sorry about that! Jess: no it’s okay. *to herself* that actually didn’t really hurt.. Well at least I found this cool ring. She continues home. Jess to herself: strange that didn’t hurt… *chuckles* wouldn’t it be funny if this ring actually had powers? I can’t wait to get home and back to my painting. And I wonder how teddy is doing, I’ve left her alone for a while now. And I’ll have to wash this ring too.  She finds that the painting she had been working on had fallen down. She blames the dog. Jess: oh my goodness- aw Teddy, did you do this? Man, I should’ve put this in a more safe place. She cleans the ring and as she does she feels a chill down her spine Jess: brr- what was that? Strange She puts the ring on and gets a call. She picks it up and puts ...

How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do they represent social groups or issues?
[Analyze your title sequence and explain your decisions regarding mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, sound, titles, etc. Show how they use or challenge genre conventions] [How are social groups or issues usually represented in your genre? Did you use or challenge these representations?] This movie shows a girl who gains powers from a magical cursed ring. She is just a middle class, woman who enjoys painting and strolls through the park. On our way home from work.. Social groups in my genre, which would be a thriller genre are presented normally as lower class people who are Just unfortunate to be at this place of time. The use of my editing and sound are used to create more of a foreboding aspect, and I even had my actors smiling in some parts to create an uneasy uncanny feeling to confuse the viewer. Though smiling when saying sorry for hitting someone with a car isn...

Script Analysis

50 First Dates 1. The opening of the script for 50 First Dates includes many women exclaiming how they had the “best” vacation experience it’s a man until they had asked for his number and he came up with wild excuses as to why he couldn’t stay in contact. This creates the comedic effect for the rest of the movie and even foreshadowing on how the character Adam Sandler (Henry) plays will have character development later on by changing his “player” ways once he finds “the girl.” However, this girl has the perfect irony to this development as it would work perfectly with his “player” facade as she (Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore) has a memory issue where her memory “resets” each day back to the day of her accident. Throughout the script, Henry tries every day to make Lucy fall in love with him all over again without scaring her.  2. At points in the script, the writer even adds little details such as saying how enamored by each other they are with sentences like “they are so ch...

Lately I’ve been watching a show called Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Gauntlet. It’s a show on Netflix where they watch and review older B movies by using sarcasm and humor to make fun of the screening.  Jonah Ray plays the role of Jonah Heston, who is forced to watch a vault of cheesy movies, with his 3 robot friends, by Dr. Kinga. As they crack snarky jokes, they continue to finish the list of B movies that they have been forced to remark.

Film Company Research

Blumhouse 1. Why is this company good for your film? This company is good for my film as I have many movies that are in the genre of thriller and horror movies and I really like that their production is so smooth and they know what they’re doing In this genre. 2. Film description.  The archetype is a movie about a girl who Finds a ring and as she does things, keep getting worse and worse for her as she continues to Wear it or have it in her vicinity. This ring also gives her powers such as immunity to pain as you start to see the beginning when she gets hit by a car, but throughout the movie things just keep getting worse and worse. 3. Budget The budget for this movie will be around $7000 as we wanna have as many good screenings as possibleWith her technology, as it has either broken or has to be redone, and that way, we have good effects and visuals throughout the movie. 4. Other movies they've produced. Horror movies Such as, paranormal activity, judgment night, sinister, a...
